The franchises spent most of their Rs 500 lakhs budget on Category B players who have performed well in past seasons.

Manoj Bhandage, an all-rounder, cost Mysuru Warriors Rs. 9 lakh, while Blasters spent Rs 7.1 lakhs on wicketkeeper Luvnith Sisodia and Rs. 7 lakhs on bowler Vidhyadhar Patil. Mangaluru Dragons paid Rs. 7 lakhs to acquire the dangerous Nikin Jose.

Category A also included all-rounder Shreyas Gopal (Rs 7.8 lakh, Shivamogga), pacer Vyshak Vijay Kumar (Rs 8.8 lakh, Gulbarga), leggie KC Cariappa (Rs 72 lakh, Hubli), J Suchith, Prasidh Krishna, Karun Nair, and K Gowtham.
