When asked regarding the potential of Virat Kohli and Babar Aam, Misbah-ul-Haq made a blunt remark that there is no point in comparing the two players. He stated that Kohli has a lot of experience as he has played more cricket than Babar. Misbah-ul-Haq stated that Babar is ‘just starting’. He further adds, that only when Babar plays the number of matches like Virat, only then a comparison can be done.

He further adds that Kohli has played a lot and at this point, no one can match his potential. Babar is a top-grade player and he possesses the ability and skill to achieve things like Kohli did, however, it will take time as it is the start of Babar’s career.  For now, comparing both the players ‘doesn’t make sense’,

Why Comparison is made between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli?

He said that comparing Virat Kohli and Babar Azam is like a parallel between Wasim Akram and Shaheen Afridi’. Salman said that it is too early to make a comparison.

There is a huge difference in the career graph of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. While Virat is regarded as the modern-day great, Babar is regarded as the top-of-the-line batter. The main reason why both players are compared numerous times is their supreme consistency with batting.

Kohli has made more than 24000 runs in international cricket. The maestro has made a staggering number of runs across all three formats. In 104 tests, Virat has scored 8119 runs. In 115 short-format games, he scored 4008 runs and in 271 ODIs, he scored 12809 runs. Furthermore, Virat has made 46 centuries in the ODIs.
