Mayank Agarwal’s Journey

Mayank Agarwal rose through the Indian Cricket ranks and established himself over the past two seasons thanks to his propensity for scoring huge runs on the domestic circuit in India. He made his Test debut for India during the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar series in Australia and in the three innings he stepped out  to bat, he returned with scores of 76,42 and 77. Record Breaking Domestic cricket season 2018-19

Mayank Agarwal Stats was already among the best players in India domestic cricket before being called up to the national test team, having amassed the most runs in the 2017-18 season. In the Ranji Trophy, he scored 1,160 runs at an astounding average of 105.45 and assisted Karnataka in reaching the semifinals. Mayank continued to play well into the Vijay Hazare Trophy and scored the most runs (723 at an astounding average of 90.23) and finished first overall.  

He played a key role in helping Karnatak win its third Vijay Hazare Trophy by defeating Saurashtra in the championship match. Mayank Agarwal surpassed the mark for the most runs in a domestic season in India across all formats.

Successful Test Debut

Mayank was ultimately called up to the Indian Test team during the 2018–19 Border–Gavaskar series in Australia as a result of his perseverance at the domestic and India A levels. His tenacious 76, which was the best score by an Indian batsman making his debut in Australia and the second-highest score by an Indian opener making their debut in an international Test, came as he opened the batting for India in the boxing day Test match. He followed that up with a 42-run innings in Melbourne's second innings and a determined 77 in the Test match in Sydney. 

IPL Journey

Mayank Agarwal was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore during the 2011 IPL and he played against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in his debut. He was then  given  the chance to start the innings alongside Chris Gayle. Even if his season was not particularly successful, there were times when Mayank showed the rest of us what he was capable of.
