After Will Jacks was injured while touring with England in Bangladesh, the Royal Challengers Bangalore signed New Zealand spin-bowling all-rounder Michael Bracewell as a replacement.

After Will Jacks was injured, RCB brought Michael Bracewell to take his place

What is Michael Bracewell latest news? Royal Challengers spent INR 3.2 crore (about US$ 390,000) for Jacks, one of their major purchases from the previous auction. The BCCI announced in a press release that Bracewell had been sold at auction to Royal Challengers for INR 1 crore.

Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra has been called up to replace Bracewell for the three-match ODI series that will follow the current Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Michael has become an indispensable team member since his first season with our white-ball squads last year. Gary Stead, the New Zealand team's head coach, is excited for him to participate in the IPL because of the "learning opportunities it provides," especially for a spin bowling all-rounder. It's fantastic that players are getting used to the heat and humidity of India in preparation for the World Cup later this year.

Michael Bracewell, 32, has played seven Tests, 19 ODIs, and 16 T20Is for New Zealand, demonstrating his versatility with both bat and ball. He has taken 40 wickets at an economy rate of 6.52 and scored 2284 runs at a strike rate of 133.48 during 117 T20 appearances. He'll play for Royal Challengers alongside other South Africans Faf du Plessis (the team's captain), Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Reece Topley, David Willey, and Finn Allen.

While playing in England's triumph in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka, Jacks, who, like Michael Bracewell, has never played in the IPL, injured a muscle while fielding. He decided against having IPL treatment after having scans and consulting with a physician earlier this week.

Jacks hoped to utilise the IPL to become used to Indian conditions and make a case to be included in England's squad for the 50-over World Cup later this year, so his injury was a major setback.

Michael Bracewell is a batting all-rounder for the New Zealand national cricket team. In domestic cricket, he plays for Wellington. Bracewell struck the third-fastest century in the New Zealand One-Day International in the first game of the series against India in 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore picked him to replace an injured Will Jacks in the IPL tournament the same year.
