CSK replaced Mukesh Choudhary after he was ruled out of the next 2023 IPL season

Do you know about the Mukesh Choudhary's latest news? Akash Singh, who was on India's Under-19 World Cup team in 2020 and played for Rajasthan Royals, was named Mukesh Choudhary's replacement at CSK for IPL 2023. The left-handed bowler had 31 wickets in 9 T20s, 9 List A matches, and 5 First-Class games. For INR 20 lakhs, he joined CSK.

"On Thursday, Akash Singh replaced Mukesh Choudhary for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK)," read an IPL press release.

Mukesh Choudhary IPL's debut was last year in 2022, and he took 16 wickets; he missed this year's tournament due to a stress fracture he sustained during the previous season.

Mukesh Choudhary injured his back and stayed at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru as he healed. CSK still needed to name a replacement. The 26-year-old pacer from Maharashtra was one of the highlights of CSK's otherwise disappointing 2022 campaign after being acquired in the preseason auction for INR 20 lakh.

The loss of Mukesh Choudhary was just a big setback for CSK before the season began. Earlier in the season, all-rounder Kyle Jamieson was injured for the four-time defending IPL champions. South African all-rounder Sisanda Magala was brought in to replace him.

Meanwhile, batting coach Mike Hussey stated that England Test captain and ace all-rounder Ben Stokes was planning to start the season as a specialist batter. "From what I've heard, he can contribute immediately as a batsman. There may be a hold on the bowling. I know he had a light bowl yesterday (Sunday) after his knee injections," Hussey revealed.

There was some initial uncertainty as to whether or not Stokes would be able to play in the league this season due to a knee injury. Hussey stated that communication between the franchise and the ECB is open and frequent.

"There is a lot of collaboration between the physios in Chennai and the ECB. It may be a few weeks before he even gets to bowl in the first few games of the tournament, but from what I gather, he won't be doing so at all. I'm not sure for sure, but we're hoping to get him bowling at some point in the tournament," Hussey said.
