Tristan Stubbs made his Twenty20 International debut against India on June 9 at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium; South Africa won the match by seven wickets. He played his first ODI on March 18, 2023, at Buffalo Park in East London against the West Indies. South African team defeated England in the Vitality IT20 Series in 2022, and Stubbs's performance was highly appreciated.

Played for Mumbai Indians in IPL

The Mumbai Indians picked Tristan Stubbs in IPL 2022 for INR 20 Lakh to replace Tymal Mills, who could not compete due to injury. In his two innings for Mumbai after being signed as a substitute, he scored just two runs and could not showcase his best performance.
